The Interruption

Created promotional materials for the "Summer Vibes Festival," including posters, flyers, and social media graphics.

Year :

2026

Industry :

Fintech

Client :

Overflow

Project Duration :

5 Weeks

Problem :

Church leaders often struggle to help new or disconnected people move from attendance to meaningful community. Many individuals show up each week yet remain unnoticed, moving through life in isolation while churches search for simple ways to help them take a first step toward connection.

Overflow needed a story-driven video that would communicate this tension clearly—showing the quiet loneliness many people experience and how a single moment can change the direction of someone’s life.

Solution :

The Interruption was developed as a cinematic narrative built around repetition and rhythm. The film follows a single individual moving through the same pattern of daily life—waking, commuting, working, and returning home—while remaining disconnected from the people around him.

Through intentionally repeated shots, pacing, and editing, the viewer experiences the monotony of isolation until a small moment interrupts the pattern. A simple interaction with Tap becomes the catalyst that breaks the cycle and opens the door to real human connection.

Challenge :

The primary challenge was balancing emotional storytelling with a clear product message. The video needed to feel authentic and human rather than promotional, while still communicating the role Tap plays in helping people move toward connection.

Visually, the story required careful planning to maintain nearly identical shots and pacing throughout the repeated routine. This consistency allowed the eventual interruption to feel meaningful and emotionally impactful rather than abrupt.

Summary :

The Interruption is a brand film for Overflow that explores the quiet reality of loneliness and the power of a single moment to change direction. Through rhythmic visual storytelling and a deliberate pattern break, the film shows how a small action can lead someone from isolation toward belonging.

By focusing on human connection rather than technology, the project reinforces Overflow’s mission while demonstrating how thoughtful storytelling can communicate purpose with clarity and emotional resonance.
