Highlands Launch

A case study with Mark Pettus on how Highlands uses Overflow Tap as a connection and stewardship tool to engage people and inspire generosity.

Year :

2026

Industry :

Fintech

Client :

Overflow

Project Duration :

2 Weeks

Problem :

Churches are always looking for meaningful ways to help people move from simply attending a service to taking a real next step. Whether someone is new, returning, or ready to engage more deeply, the moment of response can easily be missed if the process feels confusing, disconnected, or difficult to act on.

Highlands needed a simple, scalable way to help people engage in key moments—whether through connection, generosity, prayer, or next steps—without adding friction to the worship experience.

Solution :

Overflow Tap gave Highlands a simple and accessible tool to help people respond in the moment. By placing Tap cards and devices in strategic locations, the church created an easier way for attendees to connect, give, and take action with just a tap of their phone.

Through Mark Pettus’ perspective, the case study shows how Tap became more than a piece of technology. It became a practical connection and stewardship tool that helped the church reduce barriers, increase engagement, and create clearer pathways for people to participate in the life of the church.

Challenge :

The primary challenge was communicating the impact of Tap in a way that felt relational rather than technical. The story needed to show how a simple tool could support a much larger ministry goal: helping people take meaningful next steps.

Because Highlands is a large, multi-campus church, the video also needed to highlight how Tap can work at scale while still feeling personal. The goal was to capture both the strategic value for church leaders and the human value for the people being reached.

Summary :

This case study features Mark Pettus, Lead Pastor at Highlands, sharing how Overflow Tap has helped their church create stronger connection points and steward moments of engagement with greater intentionality.

By focusing on connection, generosity, and next steps, the video positions Tap as more than a giving tool. It shows how Overflow helps churches remove friction, meet people in the moment, and create simple pathways for deeper engagement with the church.
